New And Improved

I forgot to mention that I got new glasses last week. When you are as blind as I am, new corrective lenses are a major event. They’re “stylish” as eyewear in my prescription goes; and I can see. I’ve worn glasses for as long as I can remember so I’m very used to them. But, I really wish I could stick my finger in my eye like California Girl. I never really longed for contact lenses until we got a pool. Now I am starting to get tired of always having to do something with my glasses before I get into the pool. BTW, the pool is all clean now and the chemistry is almost within an acceptable range. But now it’s much too cold (in the 30s) to even think about getting into the pool.

Softball season starts soon and I should be tearing the cover off of the ball with my newly improved vision. About the only thing they won’t help with is sex. I can see what I’m doing more than well enough then. I’ve got California Girl’s parts committed to memory anyway. :) Plus “exploring” is half the fun even if you know where you’re going. And in case you are wondering, our Two For Tuesday photos will be up shortly. Happy Tuesday everyone.

I’ve worn glasses since I was 4 so I can understand your pain! In HS I got hard lenses (my only option) and I couldn’t get them in or take them out..didn’t like fingers in my eyes.

Then when my oldest started wearing them at 10 already (soft disposables) I made an appt!

I’m happy to say that I now wear contacts! And I can wear soft too!

But..I still see better in my glasses..so I work in them..and play in my contacts!

You can do it MCB!

Kelly: I know I at least need too try contact lenses; especially for recreational activities. I played softball today in my new glasses. They didn’t get bumped around at all but I would be in sad shape if they accidentally got broken. Firstly, they are difficult to make and have to be sent out so it takes a week to get them and secondly, they are very expensive.

It’s really not that hard to stick your finger in your eye. With the contacts I wear, you only take them out once a month so I don’t have to poke my eye every day.

Chickie: I’ve never worn contacts so I’m a bit apprehensive. Plus my sister has tried off and on to wear them without much success. My brother never has had any problems. So I figure I have a 50/50 chance of being able to get used to them. I’m usually pretty fearless. It’s hard to believe that I’m intimidated by a little piece if plastic.
