Clark Kent For A While

I’ve not been my normal “Superman” self this week. California Girl, The Boy and The Girl have all been very understanding. I’ll put my cape back on soon but I am really appreciative of how tolerant everyone has been while I’ve been droopy. Obviously, the kids don’t read this blog but I wanted to mention them anyway. The Girl even baked me a cake on Tuesday. I’m usually going non stop so it was great to slow down and not feel like I was letting everyone down. That’s what makes our family so great. It’s always the four of us together rather than each of us individually.

And at times like this California Girl is my rock. She is always very supportive of me but she’s been extra special this week. There is no place that I would rather be than with her. I’m going to do something nice for her now that I’m getting my mojo back. I’d let you all know but it would run the surprise since this is a joint blog. I know that its short notice but I’m also going to ask if she can dream up any “special dispensation” she wants for me to do special do to her. California Girl. I don’t know what time you’ll read this but start thinking of things we might do this weekend. I’ve got some ideas but this weekend is for you.

I’m looking for a phone booth now.

We can’t all be Super man, MCB…not all the time. I hope things improve..and the weekend looks bright.

And you are very lucky to have such a supporting family!

Ok dude, what will we see you wearing in your next hot pic of you and your lady: just glasses or just a cape? (evil grin)

Your not suppose to be amazing 100% of the time, and its great that your wife was understanding and not riding your ass. Hmm but I agree, something special for her is definitely a nice touch.

I think it’s good to see the vulnurable side of you too. I’m sure it makes them feel good to know they are capable of taking care of you sometimes too.

I was thinking of you two last night, sending good thoughts your way. :)

Rob’s right - that would be a funny picture. You’ve mentioned wearing glasses - sooo…. Glad your mojo has returned. Life does tend to be an ebb and flow, or changes, like the seasons. Hugs to CG for understanding.

Kelly: I know, but I burn the candle so much at both ends that the even the kids expect me to be Superman. When they are playing a game, they expect me to be there no matter what. I still remember the time that I was in training in a training class in another city a fair distance away and the phone rang. It was the boy saying “I just wanted to let you know that wrestling begins at 5:30″. There wasn’t even any question that I might not be able to make it. I had to leave class an hour early (fortunately there was an afternoon workshop) and drive like mad to make it in time. Since I’m always there, they expect me to be there no matter what if that makes any sense.

The weekend has been going great so far. Even though wrestling season is over for him, the boy had to be at school at 10:00. So I was able to sleep in. After dropping him off, I came home and went back to bed. After a while, he called and I picked him up then I went back to bed again. It was after 3:00 before I finally got up for the day. I really needed a long, lazy Saturday afternoon.

Rob: That might not be a bad idea for HNT. I’ll check around and see what we’ve got. We’ve got a lot of old super hero costumes.

VH: I know but whenever I’m not I feel like I’m not upholding my end of our relationship. Being droopy and out of energy is not my personality. So, even though it is not the case, I feel like I am dragging everybody else in the family down whenever I’m not as lively as I usually am.

California Girl definitely needs something nice. I know I haven’t been the easiest person to get along with this week.

Kalani: If I was like this all of the time, everyone would be miserable. So how much is too much? I’ve got my vulnerable side just like anyone and I’m sure that they don’t mind taking care of me but the role reversal does seem a bit strange. I have been the “Alpha” for as long as everyone in my immediate family has known me.

Rosie: I’m usually wear wire frames but I’m looking for some of the old style back plastic frames. I’m hopeful I’ll be able to find enough accessories for a good picture.

I am back to life now and I’m very grateful for everyone being so understanding when I wasn’t my usual self.

D-Man: That would be a pretty interesting HNT photograph

Hey, even Super Heros need a day off…..enjoy it. Although I hated being sick for 3 weeks straight, it was nice getting waiting on by my girls while I was down.

Txsm: I had an off week as opposed to just a day or two. I feel “guilty” for not being able to snap myself out of the funk I was in. I’m back to life now and feel as good as I have in a long time.

Melanie: I know we’ve got a superhero outfit around here somewhere. Hopefully I can find it before Thursday.

The nice thing about family is that you don’t have to always be a superhero with them.

Chickie: It’s really nice. I like being my normal self but it was great being picked up by the family.
