Do miss the old bed? Or has the new one proved itself over this past week?

I konw you posted pictures..and even mentioned the height as a difference and even an advantage!

I have been reading your blog for the last few months, and wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it and I how much I envy your openness about your life and your relationship.

My question is: Has your sex life always been this active or has it been a roller coaster ride that you have had to work at? I have been married 18 years and find that we really have to work at it sometimes. We are both in our eary 40’s as well. Thanks and have a good day!

I’m not sure if you’ll think this an inappropriate question or not……so feel free to delete if I’ve “gone there”.

I am part of a biracial relationship myself. My question is……The In-Laws……..Do both sets accept? Did it take awile? Are there still “digs”? Do they put the kids in the middle? I ask because we’re going strong on year 12 and have 6 children together. I’m waiting for the day either side accepts us and our children beyond the fake crap we see during the holidays.

Waving hand wildly - I finally have a question. It is about the camera. What kind do you have that takes sequential pictures or are you using a video camera and so taking stills from it?

Kelly: I miss the old bed but California Girl says “heck no!” I think it probably has to do with the fact that I haven’t yet got used to getting out of it in the morning. The new one is much better for sex but the height is still a bit disconcerting. (My feet don’t touch the floor when I sit on the side). As I mentioned previously, the extra height is an advantage for some “extracurricular activities”; but I still feel like I’m dismounting a horse when the alarm clock goes off in the morning.John: Thanks for your kind words. We are glad that you enjoy our blog. Our sex life hasn’t been much of a roller coaster, it was mostly flat when the kids were small. It was Saturday morning and sometimes Sunday and that was about it. California Girl was, in her words, distracted and overwhelmed when the kids were babies. As she just said, “It didn’t even occur to me that we were having sex less often”. She’s not quite sure how she didn’t notice. It did occur to me but I was (relatively) understanding. Things went on like that for a couple of years in the early 90s.

Lori: The short answer is yes and no. My mom does but my father and I still have not fully reconciled over some of the things that he said and did. And some of the things he still thinks. California Girl’s mom and dad seemed pretty accepting; especially after the kids came along. None of them were remotely enthused about our wedding. There aren’t digs, in part because we both are more successful adults than our siblings. I’m usually the one in the middle, not the children.

We’re never going to be one big happy family. We do more than tolerate but both sides never get together for anything. We can’t even imagine what it would be like to do things with both sides of the family at the same time. It’s my hope that we do get together before someone’s funeral. So, even though my parents and California Girl’s mom and stepfather live in town we still think of ourselves as a foursome.

Rosie: we have an old Hewlett-Packard C618. It was a good camera but never had a successor since HP’s joint venture with Pentax failed. It has an infra-red remote so that we can both easily be in the picture; and a time lapse capability that can take pictures from once every 15 seconds to once every 24 hours. Its only 2.1 mega pixels which makes it good for what we use it for but we really do need a new one.

Ahahaha I was going to go along the same lines as Melanie…

It seems MCB is a more avid blogger then CG and I wondered why. And even though it seems MCB is more of a commenter on other people’s blogs is CG sitting in the passenger seat while he cruises HNT and the like?

Phoenixboi: Other than the occasional overnight business trip I haven’t been a road warrior regularly in many years so we aren’t on our own that often. We both sleep naked so there aren’t a lot of obstacles to middle of the night encounters. We’ve been known to wake each other up with oral sex. And we usually make it a point to get back into bed in the morning on weekends in between our errands. And at night, I’ll crawl under the covers and get things going. I guess what I’m trying to say is that we generally make time for sex.

Melanie: California Girl does make posts occasionally just not as often as I do. But she does review and edit many of my posts so she has more input than is apparent. She also has some other web sites so her online time is divided among several web sites whereas I don’t create content for anything other than the blog. California Girl is a big presence on this blog. She loves taking HNT photographs and is the subject of many of the posts. So even though I make more posts than she does, this is still our blog.

Kalani: Actually California Girl sits on the floor. With her contacts, she has much better eyesight than I do so she can read from pretty far away from the computer. (My screen resolution is 800×600 on a 19-inch monitor so letters are pretty big.) And, if you read some of the same blogs I do (you know which ones), you know that when something does get her interest she’ll have something to say. Our posting/commenting habits are also indicative our personalities in real life. I’m much more talkative than she is.
