And he deserves something for all of his hard work. Mr Manic Depressive: The Girls report card was not as good as we had hoped. I think I'll have an extra cell phone (hers) for a while. MamaKBear: I really don't know how he does it but he's been on the honor roll six semesters in a row. I think the X Box is appropriate since he didn't get a super cool present for Christmas. (The Girl got a new cell phone with all of the latest gadgets.) He is an outstanding young man but I am still worried about him learning how to drive. Rosie: Unfortunately, he gets a reward and The Girl gets a consequence. She really fell of the wagon since midterms. I'm pretty sure she'll pick her grades up but I wish I it wasn't so much of a struggle. Narcissus: I played sports and got good grades when I was in high school. But I didn't have all of the distractions that the kids have today. It's MUCH harder these days. I won't get the new game console until the weekend; but they are finally in stock after the Christmas rush. Kelly: I'm pretty proud of The Boy and The Girl. It's difficult to avoid the perils that have enveloped so many of our youth. Especially in a city like the one we live in. There weren't nearly as any challenges when I was growing up. I NEVER complain about my kids to co-workers. Even if they aren't doing as well as I would like, I never forget that they're kids. And I try not to lose sight of the fact that they are only around for a few years before they are out and on their own. Lori: I notice when they are doing good or bad and react accordingly. The Girl grades sometimes frustrate me because its 100% lack of effort rather than aptitude. Since she lost her telephone privileges (as well as her mobile phone) I have no doubt that she do very well in the coming term. Lately, it seems like she alternates from good to bad then good and bad. I've got to figure out how to get her to energize herself rather than reacting to what we do.
