Straight As Again
The Boy had his report card in his book bag all weekend but got straight As again. I’m particularly impressed since he had the flu during winter examinations last December. I’m not sure how he does it with all that he had going on but somehow, he manages. He’s also earned his second varsity letter in wrestling.
He doesn’t know it yet but this weekend I’m gong to be looking for one of the new X-Box 360s. I think he plays entirely too many video games but since that’s one of his favorite things to do and his grades are good I think he deserves a new toy. The girl would be whining for something new as soon as report cars were eminent. He never asks for anything.
Speaking of The Girl, her report card should come home tomorrow or Wednesday. I haven’t heard much from her so I’m a bit worried that she’s kept up her grades this past quarter. I guess I’ll see in a day or so.

Congrats to The Boy and how nice you are for looking for the new XBox!
Congrats to The Boy! Hopefully, The Girl’s report card with be a pleasant surprise.
Straight A’s! That is awesome!
Yep, he certainly deserves the Xbox! Congrats to the Boy.
You and CG are obviously doing something right as his parents. You’re raising a fine young man.
Well, yes he does deserve a reward for all his fine efforts. I hope she does as well. Congrats to all four of you.
Straight A’s and varsity sports? I know all too well how hard that is.
Congrats to him!
And my husband would be very jealous of the 360!
You must be so proud..in these days of hearing nothing but complains from co-workers about their kids…it’s refreshing to check here to see what I can aspire mine to be!
Very proud of The Boy! And WTG Dad for getting the new XBox. Kids are to often caught being bad and rarely caught being good. So Kudos! I’m sure The Girl did fine
Chickie: I think he plays too much but the new X Box is pretty sweet. And he deserves something for all of his hard work.
Mr Manic Depressive: The Girls report card was not as good as we had hoped. I think I’ll have an extra cell phone (hers) for a while.
MamaKBear: I really don’t know how he does it but he’s been on the honor roll six semesters in a row. I think the X Box is appropriate since he didn’t get a super cool present for Christmas. (The Girl got a new cell phone with all of the latest gadgets.) He is an outstanding young man but I am still worried about him learning how to drive.
Rosie: Unfortunately, he gets a reward and The Girl gets a consequence. She really fell of the wagon since midterms. I’m pretty sure she’ll pick her grades up but I wish I it wasn’t so much of a struggle.
Narcissus: I played sports and got good grades when I was in high school. But I didn’t have all of the distractions that the kids have today. It’s MUCH harder these days. I won’t get the new game console until the weekend; but they are finally in stock after the Christmas rush.
Kelly: I’m pretty proud of The Boy and The Girl. It’s difficult to avoid the perils that have enveloped so many of our youth. Especially in a city like the one we live in. There weren’t nearly as any challenges when I was growing up.
I NEVER complain about my kids to co-workers. Even if they aren’t doing as well as I would like, I never forget that they’re kids. And I try not to lose sight of the fact that they are only around for a few years before they are out and on their own.
Lori: I notice when they are doing good or bad and react accordingly. The Girl grades sometimes frustrate me because its 100% lack of effort rather than aptitude. Since she lost her telephone privileges (as well as her mobile phone) I have no doubt that she do very well in the coming term. Lately, it seems like she alternates from good to bad then good and bad. I’ve got to figure out how to get her to energize herself rather than reacting to what we do.
