One More Day
It looks like our old bed will be with us one more day. Even though the store we bought the new one from has “next-day delivery”, they don’t deliver on Mondays. So we won’t get the new one until sometime on Tuesday. I’ll be a bit sad to see the current one go since both children were conceived on it. We don’t know if they were actually conceived on the bed or elsewhere but it the bed we had at that time. (I can’t believe I’m waxing nostalgic about a bed.) I can say that California Girl and I will take the new on for a “test drive” shortly after I get home on Tuesday.
If all goes well, we should get California girl’s new ring back from the jeweler tomorrow. They supposedly have two to three day turn around. But even though we dropped it off early on Wednesday, we missed the cut off time and of course they don’t do anything over the weekend so “two or three days” is really five. I really wish merchants would be more forthcoming about the details. They all say they compete on service but really they only compete on price. It’s amazing so many can stay in business. Someone somewhere can always manufacture and sell something cheaper. I don’t have high expectations but, once I’ve paid for it, I want my stuff.

I’m certain we’ll be seeing many pics of the new bed!
Bet CG can’t wait to get her rings back!
Yeah! New bed! We can’t wait to see it!
And I agree with you about the service part. No matter what people say..the bottom line is price that they compete on.
MamaKBear: The furniture company was supposed to call us today and let us know the “window” that the new bed would be delivered in. Of course they didn’t call. We’re just hoping it shows up sometime tomorrow. If it does, it will make it into the background our HNT photo session.
California Girl was really glad to get her new ring back. She’s thinking of having them all joined together but is still undecided.
Kelly: I’m actually willing to pay for service if I actually get it. I know I’m not spending as much money as the salespeople would like but it’s a lot of money to me. The best experience I’ve had recently was the company that services our pool. Last year we had a problem with the automated chlorine feeder. The spent a long time on the phone helping me diagnose the problem, and then recommended I replace the suspected faulty part myself. When I got to the store to pick it up, they had photocopied the appropriate page of the service manual and hand written some clarifying instructions on it. I couldn’t have asked for better service.
So……..new bed????
Inquiring minds you know!
Was just coming to ask the same thing Kelly! Bed yet? You know we want pics!!
Kelly: The new bed is here. Film at eleven. (Or as soon as I can download the pictures to the computer and post them on the blog.)
Lori: They didn’t call like they were supposed to but they actually showed up fairly early in the morning and didn’t disrupt California Girl’s whole day. I’m working on the pictures now.
