WordPresss Blues

Friday, December 30th, 2005 | General | By: Midwestern City Boy

I have been struggling upgrading from WordPress 1.5.2 to 2.0. I seem to have worked out most of the kinks; I can actually post know. There was a hiccup in the upgrade script so I could not log in until I could fix everything manually. I wanted to do the upgrade while I was on vacation and had plenty of time. Boy am I glad that I did. Everything seems to be working now. Let me know if you have any problems.

And I know that the site is slower than it was before I upgraded. The new version implements caching and is supposed to be faster. I don’t know why page generation times have increased. I’ll see what I can tweak to make things go faster. Maybe I need a faster web server (which isn’t happening).

We’ll get back to regularly scheduled programming tomorrow. Also, once I’m done tinkering, I plan to stop by and catch up on what’s been happening on everyone’s blogs.

So in a way you were working on your vacation! But at least at things you enjoy!

I hope your New Years Eve is awesome and you ring it in doing what you both do so well! :)

Rob: Thanks. May you have a naughty 2006 as well.

Kelly: Thank you. We always watch the ball drop then “inaugurate” the next year. I’ve got more of the same planned.

The Mrs: Thanks. I hope 2006 will be a good year for us. Happy New Year to you.
