Is It Christmas Yet
Today was our first day back to work in a week and already we’re ready for Christmas vacation. The week of Thanksgiving was heavenly. California Girl and I always run a road race in a nearby city on Thanksgiving morning. We don’t run for time; we run so that we can enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner without any guilt. Afterwards we come home and take a nice long soak in the Jacuzzi whirlpool tub. It’s not that we’re achy from the race; in fact, we usually run father in a normal workout. But there is something delightfully decadent about a two person whirlpool bath.

One of the wonderful things about being on vacation is that we have less that we have to do so that leaves more time to focus on the things that we like to do. And for us that means sex. Except for Thursday we had sex at least twice a day. We were on the “weekend schedule” the entire week. The days seemed very much like the days of our youth when sex at least twice was the rule rather than the exception.

California Girl and I have a long standing tradition of taking off the two weeks between Christmas Day and New Years’ Eve. Thanksgiving just whets our appetite (in more ways than one). We got some more Gynol II the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so we are well prepared. Every year, we enjoy our vacation more and more even with the Christmas shopping to do. In many ways it is a self-fulfilling prophecy. We plan on really enjoying our vacation so we do. We got engaged over Christmas vacation almost 20 years ago. So Christmastime will always have a very special meaning to us.

Your self-fulfilling prophecy is wonderful - you plan on really enjoying your vacation and then do so - together. And I thought you’d tell us your times from the race, so I didn’t check it. Well, there again - you did it together for the fun.

I’m such a moron. When you said you took the two weeks off I thought you meant you wouldn’t have sex til New Years Day. Doh!
That is one kick ass tub.

Ed: I would kill for four weeks of vacation. I get three weeks (15 days) of vacation which is a week more than normal for someone with my years of service for the same company. I negotiated an additional week when I accepted the job; something which some of my co-workers are still unhappy about. It’s fairly common in the United States for both Thanksgiving and the Friday after Thanksgiving to be holidays so I actually only used three days of vacation last week. The “standard” corporate calendar has 8-10 days holidays so even new employees usually get 4 weeks total away from work.
Rosie: One of the things that makes our vacations so enjoyable is all four of us are on vacation. So we can all sleep in and do things together. We’ve got several family traditions (like watching a spectacle DVD) that we’ve observed for many years. That makes it even easier to enjoy our time off.
I haven’t checked our times but they are definitely our worst ones ever. I remember The Boy and I were talking a little more than half way through the race that if we had run it at speed, we’d be finished. We actually ran slower than on most of our regular runs. It was just a fun family activity.
Chickie: It’s actually the opposite. Over Christmas vacation we’ll have sex about 40 times. And the tub is really nice. The fact that it fits two people makes it really useful. Soaking in it is just a fun thing to do with California Girl. I’ve only been I it by myself once.
Kelly: It’s not always as easy as planning to have fun. But being away from the work and school eliminates most of the stressful outside influences. And since it’s something that we’ve always done, we don’t think much about doing stuff individually.
Kristy: Thanks. Thanksgiving and Christmas are times when we really recharge our batteries. Unfortunately, we live in Ohio so we’re usually confined to inside activities.
Southern Sweetheart: The Jacuzzi way cool. California Girl and I spent 4 hours in it on Thursday. We don’t need its therapeutic effects but is great just to sit in it and enjoy the jets.

You have a week off for Thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas? Wow. How much vacation time do you get per year with your job? The average in the UK is about 4 weeks, I think, but I thought it was generally less in the US. Although, of course, being self employed I don’t get any paid vacation time.
