League Champions

The Girl’s soccer team just got their trophies for winning their league this past fall. She played the best season I have ever seen her play. She only allowed two goals the entire season despite always defending the opposing team’s best player. Her stellar play helped her team give up fewer goals overall than in any of the previous season they have played together. They had three shutouts and only allowed more than a single goal in one game, and that was after being up big and switching players around. (They don’t have enough players for a second team so they let the defenders play offense and have the attackers defend.) I am very proud of her. She made her teammates better offensively and was an absolute rock on defense despite playing much of the season out of her preferred position. The girl can flat out play ball.

The Girl's trophy for her team winning their league in soccer

It is not the biggest trophy that she has, but it is certainly the most well deserved. The Girl and her teammates played hard every game and deserved to win the championship.

Kelly: Thanks. The Girl knows she’s good but I don’t think she has any idea how big of a part she played in her team’s success.

Southern Sweetheart: Thanks. It was a GREAT season for The Girl because she did well in school too. So it was a great season all the way around.

MamaKBear: Soccer used to be one of my better sports. Unfortunately, the kids are getting better than me in everything so I’m slowly running out of things to challenge them at. But I really love to watch The Girl!

Excellent! I wish you lot would call soccer by it’s proper name though: football. That American version isn’t really football. :)

Ed: It’s all what you get used to. I know what we call football isn’t what the rest of the world calls football. But, around here, it would seem really strange to say “The Girl can rally play football”. But, whatever you call it, she is really good at it.
