Please Bear With Me

You probably have noticed that I have added word verification to the comment screen. I don’t usually add third-party plugins without modification but the spam in the moderation queue was flooding my inbox. When I get home from work today, I will customize the plugin so that it only asks for word verification from new commenters. If you are a frequent visitor/commenter, the word verification feature will be going away for you. I would have done it last night but Tuesday is HNT photo session day which also makes it HNT sex day. I’ll post about our photo session and the fun we had afterwards this evening too.

Have a great hump day.

I don’t think regular commenters will mind having to fill in the code.
I hope not anyway because I’m not planning to modify it on our site. :)

Ed: I agree that it’s not that big of a nuisance but I don’t like the idea of humans having to be inconvenienced in any way because of computers. Computers are supposed to make things easier for people not harder. It’s not that big of a modification; the biggest thing is that it’s an extra couple of database reads. My modification is not as bulletproof as the out of the box implementation but I think that it’s a good compromise.

Rosie: Once I’m finished,, you won’t even see the box. And new commenters will only see it the first time that they comment.

Hey MCB!! I don’t mind the numbers and such — we’re all having to do stuff like this to protect against spammers and the like…no worries! I’ll still comment!! :)

Wanting More: Thanks for your support. I don’t thinks it’s too much to do. But I chafe at the idea that we as humans have to modify our behavior because of “evil” computers.
