5 Things by CG

Midwestern City Boy really enjoys tagging me for these quizzes:

What was I doing 10 years ago: Getting the boy ready to start kindergarten. The school was on a year-round schedule and started in July.

5 years ago: In my first year of work after having been at home with the kids for several years. I was lucky enough to find a job that allowed me to work from home.

1 year ago: Enjoying the swimming pool and other summertime activities.

Yesterday: Playing computer games and softball with Midwestern City Boy.

5 Snacks I enjoy: Hershey dark chocolate mini candy bars with almonds, Ruffles potato chips and ranch dip, fresh fruit, pretzels, and ice cream.

5 songs I know all the words to: I’m With You by Avril Lavigne (I used this song for a short story challenge in which one character had to speak all the lines of a song as dialogue), Cat’s in the Cradle by Harry Chapin (about the importance of paying attention to children), I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith, Always by Atlantic Starr (romantic songs that are favorites for Midwestern City Boy and me), and The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot (not sure why this one has been going through my head recently).

5 Things I would do with a $100 million: If I had that much money, I would be a good citizen and give it to a worthwhile charity such as Habitat for Humanity, on condition that I would get the income for life. The interest on $100 million would be enough to buy a huge estate, travel, put the kids through college, and buy whatever toys I wanted.

5 Locations I would like to run away to: California, naturally; Australia, New Zealand, a tropical island (in the Caribbean or the Pacific), and Hawaii.

5 Bad habits I have: Not asking for help when I should, getting distracted from my work, being on the computer too long, eating too many mini candy bars, and getting annoyed when I can’t remember something.

5 Things I like doing: Running in the park with Midwestern City Boy on a summer morning, playing computer games, relaxing in the swimming pool, family dinners, and of course, having sex.

5 Things I would never wear: A padded bra, capri pants, monkey-feet socks, a corset or girdle, any jewelry that requires piercing (although Midwestern City Boy thinks I will change my mind about body piercing someday).

5 TV shows I like: Star Trek, What Not To Wear, documentaries about animals or dinosaurs, World Cup and other soccer games, robot battle shows.

5 Biggest joys of the moment: Our house (we built it three years ago, but it still seems like a great new thing), the long and unhurried summer days, watching the kids grow and learn about life, being connected to interesting people all over the world through the Internet, and being married to Midwestern City Boy.

5 Favorite toys: The computer, the digital camera (particularly when Midwestern City Boy uses it for creative pictures), the swimming pool, the home theater, and MCB’s dick.

I am not tagging any victims because I’m not a regular blogger.

I like it when you blog too, CG because then we learn about you!

This part really caught my attention..:
“….the long and unhurried summer days, watching the kids grow and learn about life…”

I think this weekend I’m going to concentrate on those two things.

Thanks for starting out my morning with a smile!

What are “monkey feet socks?”

Thanks for playing. It is fun to read when you do blog. I guess your writing is kinda like the salt (sprinkled sparsely) on Married in Ohio!

Thanks Kelly, sk and Chickie! Monkey feet socks are like gloves for the feet, with individual spaces for the toes. That’s probably not the real name for them (I don’t know what they are actually called), but MCB and I like to tease our daughter about having monkey feet when she wears them.

It was fun to hear from you. As a couple you two are such a wonderful unit.
