What 5 Things do you miss about your childhood?
The “rules” go like this:
Remove the blog at #1 from the following list and bump every one up one place; add your blog’s name in the #5 spot; link to each of the other blogs for the desired cross pollination effect.
1. Presentstorms Corner http://presentstorms.blogspot.com/
2. Blog, Blah, Blah http://epnurse.blogspot.com
3. Margaritaville http://margaritaville_rocks.blogspot.com
4. A Perfect Marriage http://www.perfectmarriage.co.uk
5. Married in Ohio http://www.marriedinohio.com/blog/
Next: select new friends to add to the pollen count. (No one is obligated to participate).
The five people I choose are:
Queen of Pink
Chickie (when she gets back from vacation)
HIM
Jay (since he’s got his own private blog now)
Torn Shorts
And as an extra bonus California Girl if she’s game. (I haven’t asked her yet.)
1) Playing sandlot baseball in the vacant lot next to our house.
In the first house that my parents had, we had a vacant lot next to our house. My dad bought it and we used it to play baseball in the summer time. We had ground rules for everything including if the ball went in the yard that it couldn’t be retrieved from. (They frowned upon kids jumping the fence and getting their balls. You had to ring the door bell and wait for them to get it for you.) We had regular innings but the games lasted until everyone had to go home.
2) Playing sports.
When I was in high school, I played football, wrestled and ran track. It was fun and serious at the same time. I play softball now. Its fun but it just doesn’t get the adrenalin flowing like the organized sports of my youth.
3) Feeling immortal.
When I was young I knew that I was invincible and that I was going to live forever. Now I know that I’m mortal. Not that I would do stupid things. There is a small bit of a daredevil in me but not as much as there used to be. Now I know how easily I can get maimed or killed.
4) My brother.
Growing up, we were inseparable. We used to hang out together all the time. I remember one time I missed the school bus and he made the bus driver come back for me. Now we don’t do as many things together and even though he’s older and we’re both adults, I end up looking out for/looking after him.
5) Hair.
I did not realize how quickly I would lose my hair. I started going bald when I was in college. Years ago, I cut a Batman logo in my hair and colored it for Halloween. Nowadays I’d just be painting my scalp. I don’t miss having more hair in a metrosexual sort of way; I just like to have some so I could do more fun things with it on occasion.

No. You do not. I just though that it would help us get to know you better while Kitti is out of town.

Jay, the normal rules are that no-one has to take part.
But in your case the rules say you have to do it.
Sorry, but that’s the way it is.

I’m sorry folks, but I’m doing a special series this week. I’ve poured my heart and soul into it. Music, dancing, and all sorts of good stuff. Pictures, vivid descriptions, and more.
