Size 5

California Girl doesn’t like to blow her own horn so I’ll blow it for her. We went shopping this weekend and she discovered that she was a size 5. I had been telling her that her old size 8s and size 9s were getting kind of loose on her and that she should at least try a size 7. Yes, I know about the difference between misses and juniors, that was my point. Anyway, we got to the store and plucked some size 7 Bongo shorts off the rack and they fit. She also tried some SO size 7s and they were too big and she had to get 5s. So, at the end of the day, she got some size 5s and some size 7s to replace her size 8s and size 9s. I guess I’ll need to update the size card I keep in my wallet. [I just updated the size card that I keep in my wallet. I never look at it but I like having it in case I become confused.]

The funny thing is that she hasn’t been trying to lose weight. She just stared running to keep me company/motivated when I started and kept it up be cause it’s healthy. I thought that she looked fine then and I thing that she looks good now. I just think is cool that she accompanies me when I go to the park for a run. She doesn’t need the exercise but I sure do. (I’m winning the war but it is a constant battle.) And it’s another opportunity for a shower together.

California Girl, I know losing weight was not your plan but you should proud of what you have accomplished. I know that I am proud of you.

And thanks for a great four day weekend. I love you.

Becoming slimmer AND having an excuse to buy new closthes is always a wonderful accomplishment. And when the change is noticed…. Congrats to you.

It is fun to shop when you are replacing clothes that are too big rather than the other way around. California Girl can no longer say “juniors are only for women who haven’t had babies.” She didn’t surprise me but she most certainly surprised herself.

BCD: Thanks. California Girl has worn one of her new pieces every day since she purchased them and looks GOOD.

BTW Even though it’s not original, she’s got a “butterfly” dress from Fredericks on order. It was my vote for HER and it’s absolutely my vote for California Girl. I hope you don’t mind that we copied.
