Wore Out the Bed Again
Out of the blue, California Girl said that we could get a new full-size bed. We’ve been sorely in need of a new bed for a while but could never agree on what size to get. I wanted to get the same size that we have (full) and she wanted something bigger (queen). Full size beds aren’t really big enough for two adults. There is no his side and her side; just an our side in the middle which is how I like it. I usually feel the most rested when I wake up with my arm all squished for California Girl laying on top if it all night. And I generally toss and turn if I have too much room. California Girl doesn’t sleep as well in an “empty” bed either, we just have (or should I say had) a different view on what is big enough.
This is the third mattress and box spring that we have worn out before its time. It must be all the hot sex we have. The manufactures should make a new ratings scale for beds based upon how often the purchasers expect to have sex on it. Platinum for once per day or more. Gold for two to three times a week. Silver for once a week. Bronze for once or twice a month. And unlabeled for “only if I’m really lucky”. I can already visualize the sales person going through the script now. Its funny how taboo discussions about sex are considering it’s such a big part of people’s lives. I just hope California Girl and I don’t lose out enthusiasm for sex when we get older. Hopefully, seven to ten years from now, we’ll be shopping for beds again.

OH MY GOD!! We could have written this post! Our problem, though, was wearing out the actual BED! We had a really high bed, and actually broke the WOODEN FRAME at least 7 times. We finally had to prop it up with COMPUTERS!!! Finally, his mom felt sorry for us and bought us a new bed. We went DOWN from a KING to a QUEEN. We LOVE it! I can’t imagine how a full would be, though…a QUEEN forces us to sleep pretty close (but no complaints HERE!). Hubby snickered at your “arm asleep” comment…that’s him exactly. He’d sleep ON me if I’d let him!!!
