I Am NOT A Geek

I have never liked being called a geek, a techie or any similar terms. I don’t fear sunlight or girls. I am (semi) athletic and other than wearing glasses don’t look like a nerd. I ‘m interested in a lot more things than the latest role playing game or science fiction program on television. I don’t smoke but I like to go to clubs and hang out at bars and in the summer I get a killer tan. I am good with computers but I also play softball, volleyball and occasionally basketball. I’m not [insert name of your favorite male porno star here] but I’ not [insert name of your favorite limp-dick here] either. There seems to be a perception that people who understand computers are socially inept nerds. That?s the same attitude as assuming someone who’s physically attractive is stupid. It may be a common misconception, but it’s still a put down. Its amazing the different vibes that I get from people who I meet in bars versus people I meet in technical settings.

End of rant.
