An Unexpected Discovery
As I was going through all of the files on our main computer looking for files to delete I happened upon our private photo album. After the hardware woes of last weekend, I wanted to delete enough files so that everything would fit on a single backup tape. (It’s inconvenient to switch tapes because then I have to run the backup during the day when I would rather be using the computer rather than in the dead of night when I’m asleep. So deleting a couple hundred megabytes would make a big difference.) I know that the album is there but if I think about it, I just wasn’t expecting come across it. Last Monday I mentioned that California Girl and I have sex during the daytime because the lighting is better for photographs as well as sex. It’s been years since we made the jump to digital photography and the instant nature of photographs has lost its newness but we still do take some erotic photographs from time to time. California Girl still looks as good as in the Polaroids we took in our college days; however, the same cannot be said of me. Despite the fact that I weight the same or slightly less, my stomach looks a little pudgier, and I definitely have less hair than I used too. Still, I enjoy taking still photographs of us on the bedroom (or elsewhere if the kids are not around). My preference is to set the camera on a small tripod on a dresser and set it to take a picture every 15 seconds. I remember I couldn’t figure out how to set the camera to take time lapse photos the first time that we tried so we had to use the infra-red remote. I wasn’t about to get up and go look for the owner’s manual. The pictures weren’t the best but they still capture the essence of the moment. We have come a long way since then. We don’t play to the camera; our pictures are definitely more erotic than pornographic. Or course they do have a strange break when California Girl gets up to go put in her diaphragm. So I have spent the last two hours looking at pictures of us. Reviewing the pictures is almost as fin as making them. I never noticed before how focused on we are on each other during our lovemaking. There are some outstanding “Kodak moments” among them. Now I am really tempted to wake up California Girl.
