White Death

The first few flakes of a big snowstorm are just starting to fall with a lot more to come over the new few days. It’s good that we dug out from the last snowstorm on Saturday. That should make it easier to shovel the snow from the upcoming storm.  The Girl is really hoping for a snow day. Most of the snow from the last storm fell from Friday to Saturday so she “missed” the opportunity for an unexpected off day. The really large accumulations were farther to the east; so there weren’t any problems clearing the roads. I don’t know where the heaviest snowfall will be with this one. I brought my laptop home from work just in case.

I shoveled the driveway by hand on Saturday. I always shovel by hand. It sometimes takes a long time; but its good exercise. I’d like to have a snow blower; but it’s one of the many things I world like that’s on the useful but not essential list. The Girl isn’t yet permitted to drive in heavy snow; so she was around the house and available to help. It snows here every here; but some a lot of people around here still don’t know how to drive when there is snow on the roads. The Girl has been doing well driving; but, I still think that it’s not a good idea for her to be out when the roads are bad.  She hasn’t had any mishaps or near misses which is very good for someone her age. Do you let your kids drive in weather like this or do you wait it to stop snowing?

How Did You Do?

I was the big winner in our office’s SuperBowl pool! Unlike some in the past, the game was very entertaining even for people who didn’t have money riding on it. Of course, it’s even better to watch a good game and win some cash. How did you do in your office pool?

One thing I noticed is how few commercials there were relative to years past. And none of ones that were sold were particularly interesting. I will say that I have several coworkers (both male and female) that I never, ever want to see in the underwear. And a few are that I wouldn’t mind if that’s all they wore. I’m not sure if it’s due of where I work or if it’s a trend in business in general; but there seem to be a lot more people who are very, very overweight than there used to be. I’m not fond of tee treadmill but it’s definitely better than the alternative. BTW: What did you think the best commercial was?

There aren’t a lot of words to go with today’s post since I’m still catching up on things after spending so much time fixing our ability to comment on Blogger blogs. Here are two photographs from Tuesday night. One is a new favorite and the other is a recurring theme. Can you tell which one is which?

I Hate Blogger!

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 | Bitching | By: Midwestern City Boy

I HATE Blogger! It was only a few months ago that I was complaining that Google changed the way that OpenID works for leaving authenticated comments. They changed things again on Sunday or Monday so once again I couldn’t leave comments on anyone’s Blogger blog. Of course they never announce their changes beforehand or even say what they changed; so the only way to know is that things suddenly stop working. It takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what changed and implement a fix. I know that its “free” but it’s becoming more and more troublesome of you use another blogging platform.

Things are finally fixed now so I’ve returned to normally scheduled programming. That means our HNT post will be published shortly.

Two For Tuesday – 223

It was in transit longer than expected but the new bikini that California Girl ordered from Venus finally arrived. They shipped it via UPS to our local post office then it traveled by mail the rest of the way to our house. I’m sure it’s cheaper for them; but it took a long time to get here. Today was a “warm” day especially for a February in Ohio; but it was still fun for California Girl to model it and imagine that summer is just around the corner.

Since we have a swimming pool, California Girl has a lot of bikinis and probably doesn’t “need” a new swimsuit. All the same, she usually buys a new one in January or February. It’s not much; but it helps make pool season seem not so far away. It was especially welcome after the single digit temperatures we had this past weekend. So here are a couple of pictures of California Girl in her new suit. In once she’s just relaxing and in the other she’s doing other things.
